FREE PRESCHOOL FOR ALL 4 YEAR OLDS…….
Wee Soar Preschool is happy to announce we are recipients of Iowa's Statewide Voluntary Preschool Program for four-year olds
The purpose of Iowa's Statewide Voluntary Preschool Program for Four-Year-Old Children is to provide an opportunity for all young children in the State of Iowa to enter school ready to learn by expanding voluntary access to quality preschool curricula for all four-year-old children. The allocation of funds for the Statewide Voluntary Preschool Program is intended to improve access to quality early childhood education and provide a predictable, equitable and sustainable funding method to increase the number of children participating in quality programs. Therefore, the four-year-old preschool funds should increase the number of children participating in quality programs. The statewide program was established May 10, 2007 when Governor Chet Culver signed HF 877
Wee Soar Preschool has worked hard to acquire this Grant. We have made numerous improvements to our preschool program and will continue to strive to provide quality education for our area children.
Changes for the School District and direction this will lead the preschool
- This Grant will allow our School District to continue to serve our 4 year old children.
- We will provide a qualified Early Childhood Teacher in each classroom.
- Certified teacher aids in the classroom.
- We will meet Department of Ed QPPS Standards
- Use Creative Curriculum and on going assessments will be given throughout the year
- Continue to improve and update our playground area and classrooms.
Qualifying requirements for students and families
- Must be enrolled in our 3 or 5 day program
- Must be 4 years old by September 15, 2010
- Must have all required paperwork turned in to Lori Jost
Beginning Monday, November 2, 2009, all tuition will be absorbed through the Grant.
No tuition will be charged to 4 year old students who choose to participate in our Voluntary Grant Program
*Families not required to reside within our school district to receive this funding.
Beginning Monday, November 2, 2009, Wee Soar Preschool will offer free preschool for 4 year old students who participate in our 3 or 5 day preschool program.
